Writing and Capitalization: Capitalization Mistakes

Here's a helpful blog entry on capitalization. The site is Freelance Writing Jobs at http://www.freelancewritinggigs.com/ and the post is at: http://www.freelancewritinggigs.com/2010/08/do-you-make-these-capitalization-mistakes/#retweet.
It discusses some common mistakes with capitalization and discusses how to fix them to improve writing. Also click on the link listed, A Sense of Capital En-TITLE-ment, for more tips.

  1. Hello!

I'd love to know how you like writing for experts123.com? I also write for Demand Studios, and just curious about the differences/similarities.

Also, our home is run by a golden retriever as well! :)

    Thanks in advance! :)

  2. Hi Nancy,
I have written articles about legal issues on Experts123.com and never had any problems with copy editors. In fact, they asked me my opinion about what topics to offer. Imagine a writer being asked an opinion--I was stunned. The problem is the format right now. There are very few work-for-hire (WFH) articles left. In order to make any money there now, you would have to write an engaging article for a revenue share, with which I have no experience, since I've only done WFH articles. My understanding was that they were supposed to replenish the WFH articles but they haven't. The other way to make money is to answer their $ questions. I am not interested in doing that, so I will wait until they post more WFH work. Until then, I'll be writing elsewhere. Demand can be an in-your-face "demanding" site. In fact, I've had to write to them several times because they over-edited some of my legal articles, making them factually incorrect.
Experts123.com is more laid back and allows the writer, not the copy writer, to control the finished product. I enjoyed Experts very much when it was working. You also do not need to produce links for them, which is a blessing, IMHO. I truly hope they bring back WFH articles.
I was going to post tonight about other writing gigs, so you might want to check that out.
    Thanks for commenting.
